Great point on "dream life" - I agree! I used it as an interchange for "goals" or whatever a person wants to have and build for themselves. Perhaps the word "dream" can bring a negative connotation as you explained, in which case I think it depends on a person's own mentality. There are content people who believe that they are already living their dream life as opposed to putting themselves in a forever limbo state. Thanks for reading!
