If it's a perception issue, then to me, it's more about what you think of what happens instead of what happens. Women might question you based on this but a worthy partner will listen to your experiences, feelings, thoughts, observe your behaviours, and try to understand your values through different things other than your relationship with your mother to form their opinions, not judging you based on an out of context information.
