It’s not about the pros and cons to me when reading this. My point is, the article is ironic. One hand you say you don’t want to be defined a “girl” merely because of what this word is now associated with but the other hand you make it more semantically negative yourself.

Actually I myself have written a piece on this called It’s hard being a girl – it’s more about embracing the identity for me in the end, and if anything, giving it a more positive meaning.
