Don’t Write on Medium Just For the Money

If you’re my regular reader, you probably have noticed that I’m not very active on Medium these days. I admit that I might have lost interest in writing about dating and relationships here a little. And there are a few reasons for this.

Firstly, I’ve written a lot about this topic in the last 7 or 8 years. I already said most of the things I wanted to say in my big course Empowered Dating. Once you open your mind and shift your perspective, you will see that the answer is a lot simpler than you’d imagined.

Secondly, I’m writing and coaching full time now, and writing on Medium currently isn’t enough to pay my bills. It’s much harder nowadays to go viral and make decent money from a few articles on Medium. I know I could probably try to be consistent and treat Medium like a job, but that sounds like a lot of work and there’s still no guarantee that I’d make the amount of money I need. I’d be relying entirely on the Medium god aka the algorithm that seems to be changing all the time.

Don’t get me wrong — I do think Medium is a great platform for (new) writers. It has earned a special place in my heart. It’s a cool way to make some money from writing, especially when you can just write whatever you want (and I did make 5-figures from Medium), but I don’t see it as my…
