Using dating apps when you’re lonely is a bad idea.

I uploaded a Youtube video this week based on my Medium article about why you shouldn’t use dating apps when you’re lonely — I personally thought it was an important message, and many people agreed with me. So, if you haven’t seen the content, check out the video below.

I know covid restrictions have been hard. If you’re living alone and single, the loneliness can be intense. But, as I discussed in the video, using dating apps is not the answer to loneliness — connections are. And you can find meaningful connections outside of dating apps.

Dating apps should be used as a tool to get you the love life you want when you’re in a healthy place, ready to date and be in a relationship, not as a source of validation or instant gratification — that won’t get you far.

Even though I’m in a happy relationship now, I remember clearly my days being all by myself in some rented apartment in central London, longing for love. I did indeed use dating apps then, and it almost destroyed me. Don’t make the same mistakes as I did.

Share with me your thoughts and experiences with lockdown so far — I’d love to chat!
